Trouw Nutrition is an innovative partner in managing food quality and safety, through extensive R&D programs, uniform specification and technology.
Quality Assurance has always been the focus of Trouw Nutrition companies. Participation in local quality benchmark standards like UFAS and GMP+ are part of that quality assurance policy.
We have independently assessed procedures that deal with all aspects of our business. We take great care to control the risk of cross-contamination. We were one of the first in the industry to adopt the use of HACCP, which examines all aspects of the manufacturing process and its impact on the integrity of the finished product. A range of control measures that minimise the risk of cross contamination are in place. To support these measures we have dedicated production lines or even dedicated production plants for specific production areas.
We use only the best ingredients for our products. Suppliers of raw materials are audited at their sites and regularly spot-checked in order to ensure the best at all times.
Feed-to-Food Quality
Animal and fish feeds have a direct influence on the quality of the final food products. In addition, feeds can be the source of food safety problems. For these reasons, any advances are important for Nutreco, for its customers and for consumers. This priority area provides an opportunity to bring together and monitor actions across the business.
Nutreco already has actions in this area, for example with the development of NuTrace®, the Nutreco feed and food safety programme that is effective over all Nutreco businesses, and participation in TrusQ, the coordinated feed safety programme involving the leading animal feed suppliers of the Netherlands.
